أَخْبَرَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَدَّثَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ صِيَامِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصُومُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يُفْطِرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُفْطِرُ حَتَّى نَقُولَ لَا يَصُومُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ أَوْ عَامَّةَ شَعْبَانَ .

Urdu Translation

ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے روزوں کے متعلق سوال کیا، تو انہوں نے کہا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( پے در پے اتنے ) روزے رکھتے کہ ہم سمجھتے ( اب ) آپ روزہ رکھنا بند نہیں کریں گے، اور ( پھر ) اتنے دنوں تک بغیر روزے کے رہتے کہ ہم سمجھتے ( اب ) آپ روزے نہیں رکھیں گے، اور آپ ( پورے ) شعبان میں یا شعبان کے اکثر دنوں میں روزے رکھتے تھے۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Abu Salamah bin 'Abdur-Rahman that he asked Aishah about the fasting of the Messenger of Allah. She said: The Messenger of Allah used to fast until we said: 'He will not fast.' And he used to fast Shaban, or most of Shaban. ' '
