Baab Zakat O Sadqat Ke Ehkaam O Masail

أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قراءة عليه وأنا أسمع، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْجَلِيلِ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الْيَحْصَبِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ حَدَّثَهُ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ بْنُ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ فِي الْآيَةِ الَّتِي قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ:‏‏‏‏ وَلا تَيَمَّمُوا الْخَبِيثَ مِنْهُ تُنْفِقُونَ سورة البقرة آية 267،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هُوَ الْجُعْرُورُ وَلَوْنُ حُبَيْقٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ فَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تُؤْخَذَ فِي الصَّدَقَةِ الرُّذَالَةُ .

Urdu Translation

ابن شہاب زہری کہتے ہیں کہ   ابوامامہ بن سہیل بن حنیف رضی اللہ عنہ نے اللہ عز و جل کے فرمان: «ولا تيمموا الخبيث منه تنفقون» ”اللہ کی راہ میں برا مال خرچ کرنے کا قصد نہ کرو“ ( البقرہ: ۲۶۷ ) کے متعلق مجھ سے بیان کیا کہ «خبيث» سے مراد «جعرور» اور «لون حبیق» ہیں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے زکاۃ میں خراب مال لینے سے منع فرما دیا ہے۔

English Translation

Abu Umamah bin Sahl bin Hunaif said: concerning the Verse in which Allah, the Mighty and Subline, says: And do not aim at that which is bad to spend from it. [2] This refers to had quality dates. The Messenger of Allah forbade taking bad quality dates as Sadaqah.
