أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مَرْحُومٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً عَرَضَتْ نَفْسَهَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَضَحِكَتْ ابْنَةُ أَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ مَا كَانَ أَقَلَّ حَيَاءَهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ أَنَسٌ:‏‏‏‏ هِيَ خَيْرٌ مِنْكِ عَرَضَتْ نَفْسَهَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

Urdu Translation

انس رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   ایک عورت نے اپنے آپ کو ( نکاح کے لیے ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو پیش کیا، تو ( یہ سن کر ) انس رضی اللہ عنہ کی صاحبزادی ہنس پڑیں، اور کہا: کتنی کم حیاء عورت ہے! انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: ( بیٹی! ) یہ عورت تجھ سے اچھی ہے ( ذرا اس کی طلب تو دیکھ ) اس نے اپنے آپ کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر پیش کیا ہے، ( اور آپ کو حاصل کرنے کی کوشش کی ہے ) ۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Anas that a woman offered herself in marriage to the Prophet. The daughter of Anas laughed and said: How little was her modesty. Anas said: She was better than you; she offered herself in marriage to the Prophet.
