أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ فِي بَرِيرَةَ ثَلَاثُ سُنَنٍ إِحْدَى السُّنَنِ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَّهَا أُعْتِقَتْ فَخُيِّرَتْ فِي زَوْجِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ الْوَلَاءُ لِمَنْ أَعْتَقَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَالْبُرْمَةُ تَفُورُ بِلَحْمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُرِّبَ إِلَيْهِ خُبْزٌ وَأُدْمٌ مِنْ أُدْمِ الْبَيْتِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَلَمْ أَرَ بُرْمَةً فِيهَا لَحْمٌ ؟ فَقَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ بَلَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ذَلِكَ لَحْمٌ تُصُدِّقَ بِهِ عَلَى بَرِيرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَنْتَ لَا تَأْكُلُ الصَّدَقَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ هُوَ عَلَيْهَا صَدَقَةٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ لَنَا هَدِيَّةٌ .

Urdu Translation

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی الله عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   بریرہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے تین سنتیں تھیں ۱؎، ایک یہ کہ وہ لونڈی تھیں آزاد کی گئیں، ( آزادی کے باعث ) انہیں ان کے شوہر کے سلسلہ میں اختیار دیا گیا ( اپنے غلام شوہر کے ساتھ رہنے یا علیحدگی اختیار کر لینے کا ) اور ( دوسری سنت یہ کہ ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”ولاء ( میراث ) آزاد کرنے والے کا حق ہے“، اور ( تیسری سنت یہ کہ ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ( ان کے ) گھر گئے ( اس وقت ان کے یہاں ) ہنڈیا میں گوشت پک رہا تھا، آپ کے سامنے روٹی اور گھر کے سالنوں میں سے ایک سالن پیش کیا گیا تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”کیا میں نے گوشت کی ہنڈیا نہیں دیکھی ہے؟“ ( تو پھر گوشت کیوں نہیں لائے؟ ) لوگوں نے عرض کیا: ہاں، اللہ کے رسول! ( آپ نے صحیح دیکھا ہے ) لیکن یہ گوشت وہ ہے جو بریرہ رضی اللہ عنہا کو صدقہ میں ملا ہے اور آپ صدقہ نہیں کھاتے ( اس لیے آپ کے سامنے گوشت نہیں رکھا گیا ہے ) ۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”وہ اس کے لیے صدقہ ہے لیکن ( جب تم اسے مجھے پیش کرو گے تو ) وہ میرے لیے ہدیہ ہو گا ( اس لیے اسے پیش کر سکتے ہو ) “ ۳؎۔

English Translation

It was narrated that 'Aishah, the wife of the Prophet, said: Three Sunan were established because of Barirah. One of those Sunan was that she was set free and was given the choice concerning her husband; the Messenger of Allah said: 'Al Wala' is to the one who set the slave free;' and the Messenger of Allah entered when some meat was being cooked in a pot, but bread and some condiments were brought to him. He said: 'Do I not see a pot in which some meat is being cooked?' They said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah, that is meat that was given in charity to Barirah and you do not eat (food given in) charity.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'It is charity for her and a gift for us.'
