It was narrated that 'Ikrimah said: A man declared Zihar to his wife, then had intercourse with her before he had offered the expiation. He mentioned that to the Prophet. The Prophet said to him: 'What made you do that?' He said: 'May Allah have mercy on you, O Messenger of Allah. I saw her anklets, or her calves, in the light of the moon.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'Keep away from her until you have done that which Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has commanded.'

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ أَبَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ تَظَاهَرَ رَجُلٌ مِنِ امْرَأَتِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَصَابَهَا قَبْلَ أَنْ يُكَفِّرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا حَمَلَكَ عَلَى ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏رَأَيْتُ خَلْخَالَهَا أَوْ سَاقَيْهَا فِي ضَوْءِ الْقَمَرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ فَاعْتَزِلْهَا حَتَّى تَفْعَلَ مَا أَمَرَكَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ .

عکرمہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ایک شخص نے اپنی بیوی سے ظہار کیا ( یعنی اپنی بیوی کو اپنی ماں کی طرح کہہ کر حرام کر لیا ) پھر کفارہ ادا کرنے سے پہلے اس سے صحبت کر لی، پھر جا کر نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس کا ذکر کیا ( کہ ایسا ایسا ہو گیا ہے ) تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس سے فرمایا: ”کس چیز نے تمہیں اس قدر بے قابو کر دیا کہ تم اس کام کے کرنے پر مجبور ہو گئے“، اس نے کہا: اللہ کی رحمتیں نازل ہوں آپ پر اللہ کے رسول! میں نے چاند کی چاندنی میں اس کی پازیب دیکھ لی ( راوی کو شبہ ہو گیا کہ یہ کہا یا یہ کہا ) کہ میں نے چاند کی چاندنی میں اس کی ( چمکتی ہوئی ) پنڈلیاں دیکھ لیں ( تو مجھ سے رہا نہ گیا ) ، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اس سے دور رہو جب تک کہ وہ نہ کر لو جس کا اللہ عزوجل نے تمہیں کرنے کا حکم دیا ہے“ ( یعنی کفارہ ادا کر دو ) ۔
