أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَارَةُ بْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بُرْدَيْنِ قِطْرِيَّيْنِ،‏‏‏‏ وَكَانَ إِذَا جَلَسَ فَعَرِقَ فِيهِمَا ثَقُلَا عَلَيْهِ،‏‏‏‏ وَقَدِمَ لِفُلَانٍ الْيَهُودِيِّ بَزٌّ مِنْ الشَّأْمِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ لَوْ أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْهِ فَاشْتَرَيْتَ مِنْهُ ثَوْبَيْنِ إِلَى الْمَيْسَرَةِ،‏‏‏‏ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ مَا يُرِيدُ مُحَمَّدٌ،‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ بِمَالِي أَوْ يَذْهَبَ بِهِمَا،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ كَذَبَ قَدْ عَلِمَ أَنِّي مِنْ أَتْقَاهُمْ لِلَّهِ وَآدَاهُمْ لِلْأَمَانَةِ .

Urdu Translation

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس دو قطری چادریں تھیں، جب آپ بیٹھتے اور ان میں پسینہ آتا تو وہ بھاری ہو جاتیں، ایک یہودی کا شام سے کپڑا آیا تو میں نے عرض کیا: اگر آپ اس کے پاس کسی کو بھیج کر تاوقت سہولت ( قیمت ادا کرنے کے وعدہ پر ) دو کپڑے خرید لیتے تو بہتر ہوتا، چنانچہ آپ نے اس کے پاس ایک شخص کو بھیجا، اس ( یہودی ) نے کہا: مجھے معلوم ہے محمد کیا چاہتے ہیں، وہ تو میرا مال ہضم کرنا چاہتے ہیں، یا یہ دونوں چادروں کو ہضم کرنا چاہتے ہیں، اس پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اس نے جھوٹ کہا، اسے معلوم ہے کہ میں سب سے زیادہ اللہ سے ڈرنے والا ہوں اور سب سے زیادہ امانت کا ادا کرنے والا ہوں“ ۱؎۔

English Translation

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: The Messenger of Allah was wearing two Qitri garments which, if he sat and sweated, would become heavy (and uncomfortable). A Jewish man got some fabric from Ash-sham so I said: 'Why don't you send word to him to buy two garments from him, and pay him when things get easier?' So he sent word to him, but he said: 'I know what Muhammad wants; he wants to go away with my money and take them (the two garments).' The Messenger of Allah said; 'He is lying; he knows that I am one of the ones who fear Allah the most, and are most honest in fulfilling trusts.
