أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ يَرْبُوعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَتَكَلَّمُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏هَؤُلَاءِ بَنُو ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ يَرْبُوعٍ الَّذِينَ أَصَابُوا فُلَانًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَعْنِي لَا تَجْنِي نَفْسٌ عَلَى نَفْسٍ .

Urdu Translation

بنی ثعلبہ بن یربوع کے ایک شخص کہتے ہیں کہ   میں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا، آپ گفتگو فرما رہے تھے۔ ایک شخص نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! یہ بنی ثعلبہ بن یربوع ہیں جنہوں نے فلاں کو قتل کیا ہے، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”نہیں، یعنی کسی کا قصور کسی پر نہیں ہو گا“۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Al-Ash'ath bin sulaim, from his father that a man from among Banu Tha'labah bin Yarbu' said: I came to the Prophet when he was speaking, and a man said: 'O Messenger of Allah, these are Banu Tha'labah bin Yarbu' who killed so and so.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'No,' meaning no soul is affected by the sin of another.
