حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْبَأَنَا ضَمْرَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَتَبَ الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ إِلَى النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبِرْنَا بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مَعَ سُورَةِ الْجُمُعَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِيهَا:‏‏‏‏ هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ .

Urdu Translation

عبیداللہ بن عبداللہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ضحاک ( احنف ) بن قیس نے نعمان بن بشیر رضی اللہ عنہما کو لکھا کہ آپ ہمیں بتائیے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم جمعہ کے دن نماز جمعہ میں سورۃ الجمعہ کے ساتھ اور کون سی سورت پڑھتے تھے؟ نعمان بن بشیر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا: آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم «هل أتاك حديث الغاشية»پڑھتے تھے۔

English Translation

It was narrated that ‘Ubaidullah bin ‘Abdullah said: “Dahhak bin Qais wrote to Nu’man bin Bashir, saying: ‘Tell us what the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite on Friday along with Surah Al-Jumu’ah.’ He said: ‘He used to recite: “Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e., the Day of Resurrection)?’” [Al-Ghashiyah (88)]
