حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِشَامٍ الدَّسْتُوَائِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ تَسَحَّرْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قُمْنَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ كَمْ بَيْنَهُمَا؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَدْرُ قِرَاءَةِ خَمْسِينَ آيَةً .

Urdu Translation

زید بن ثابت رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ہم نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ سحری کھائی پھر ہم نماز کے لیے کھڑے ہوئے۔ انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے زید رضی اللہ عنہ سے پوچھا: سحری اور نماز کے درمیان کتنا فاصلہ تھا؟ کہا: پچاس آیتیں پڑھنے کی مقدار ۱؎۔

English Translation

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that Zaid bin Thabit said: “We ate Suhur with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then we got up to perform prayer.” I said: “How long was there between the two?” He said: “As long as it takes to recite fifty Verses.”
