حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْجُمَحِيُّ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَبِيتُ اللَّيَالِي الْمُتَتَابِعَةَ طَاوِيًا،‏‏‏‏ وَأَهْلُهُ لَا يَجِدُونَ الْعَشَاءَ،‏‏‏‏ وَكَانَ عَامَّةَ خُبْزِهِمْ خُبْزُ الشَّعِيرِ .

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مسلسل کئی راتیں بھوکے گزارتے، اور ان کے اہل و عیال کو رات کا کھانا میسر نہیں ہوتا، اور اکثر ان کے کھانے میں جو کی روٹی ہوتی۔

English Translation

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to spend many nights in a row hungry and his family could find no supper, and usually their bread was barley bread.”
