حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْطَاوُسٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى رَجُلٍ قَدْ خَضَبَ بِالْحِنَّاءِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا أَحْسَنَ هَذَا ،‏‏‏‏ ثُمَّ مَرَّ بِآخَرَ قَدْ خَضَبَ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا أَحْسَنُ مِنْ هَذَا ،‏‏‏‏ ثُمَّ مَرَّ بِآخَرَ قَدْ خَضَبَ بِالصُّفْرَةِ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا أَحْسَنُ مِنْ هَذَا كُلِّهِ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَكَانَ طَاوُسٌ يُصَفِّرُ.

Urdu Translation

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا گزر ایک ایسے شخص کے پاس ہوا جس نے مہندی کا خضاب لگا رکھا تھا، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یہ کتنا اچھا ہے ، پھر آپ ایک دوسرے شخص کے پاس سے گزرے جس نے مہندی اور کتم ( وسمہ ) کا خضاب لگایا تھا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یہ اس سے اچھا ہے ! پھر آپ کا گزر ایک دوسرے کے پاس ہوا جس نے زرد خضاب لگا رکھا تھا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یہ ان سب سے اچھا اور بہتر ہے ۔ ابن طاؤس کہتے ہیں کہ اسی لیے طاؤس بالوں کو زرد خضاب کیا کرتے تھے

English Translation

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: “The Prophet (ﷺ) passed by a man who had dyed his hair with henna and said: ‘How handsome this is!’ Then he passed by another who had dyed his hair with henna and Katam, and said: ‘This one is more handsome than that one.’ Then he passed by another who had dyed his hair yellow and said: ‘This one is more handsome than all of them.’”
