Baab Jannat Ka Wasf Aur Is Ki Naimaton Ka Tazkira

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْفُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خُثَيْمٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ مَوْلَى أَبِي أَيُّوبَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ،‏‏‏‏ عَلِّمْنِي وَأَوْجِزْ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا قُمْتَ فِي صَلَاتِكَ،‏‏‏‏ فَصَلِّ صَلَاةَ مُوَدِّعٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَلَا تَكَلَّمْ بِكَلَامٍ تَعْتَذِرُ مِنْهُ،‏‏‏‏ وَأَجْمِعِ الْيَأْسَ عَمَّا فِي أَيْدِي النَّاسِ .

Urdu Translation

ابوایوب رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ایک آدمی نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا، آ کر کہا: اللہ کے رسول! مجھے کچھ بتائیے، اور مختصر نصیحت کیجئیے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جب تم نماز کے لیے کھڑے ہو تو ایسی نماز پڑھو گویا کہ دنیا سے جا رہے ہو، اور کوئی ایسی بات منہ سے نہ نکالو جس کے لیے آئندہ عذر کرنا پڑے، اور جو کچھ لوگوں کے پاس ہے اس سے پوری طرح مایوس ہو جاؤ ۔

English Translation

It was narrated that Abu Ayyub said: “A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, teach me but make it concise.’ He said: ‘When you stand to pray, pray like a man bidding farewell. Do not say anything for which you will have to apologize. And give up hope for what other people have.’”
