It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “I have been commanded to prostrate on seven, but not to tuck up my hair or my garment.”

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَسْجُدَ عَلَى سَبْعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا أَكُفَّ شَعَرًا وَلَا ثَوْبًا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ ابْنُ طَاوُسٍ:‏‏‏‏ فَكَانَ أَبِي يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ الْيَدَيْنِ وَالرُّكْبَتَيْنِ وَالْقَدَمَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ يَعُدُّ الْجَبْهَةَ وَالْأَنْفَ وَاحِدًا.

عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: مجھے حکم دیا گیا ہے کہ میں سات ( اعضاء ) پر سجدہ کروں، اور بالوں اور کپڑوں کو نہ سمیٹوں ۔ ابن طاؤس کہتے ہیں کہ ( وہ سات اعضاء یہ ہیں ) : دونوں ہاتھ، دونوں گھٹنے، دونوں قدم، اور وہ پیشانی و ناک کو ایک شمار کرتے تھے۔
