حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَيْمَنُ بْنُ نَابِلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُعَلِّمُنَا التَّشَهُّدَ كَمَا يُعَلِّمُنَا السُّورَةَ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ:‏‏‏‏ بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ وَبِاللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ وَالصَّلَوَاتُ وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ لِلَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الْجَنَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ .

Urdu Translation

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ہمیں تشہد ایسے سکھاتے تھے جس طرح قرآن کی سورت سکھاتے تھے: «التحيات لله والصلوات والطيبات لله السلام عليك أيها النبي ورحمة الله وبركاته السلام علينا وعلى عباد الله الصالحين أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله أسأل الله الجنة وأعوذ بالله من النار» اللہ کے نام اور اس کی مدد سے، آداب بندگیاں اللہ کے لیے ہیں، اور نماز اور پاکیزہ خیرات اللہ ہی کے لیے ہیں، اے نبی! آپ پر سلام اور اللہ کی رحمت، اور اس کی برکتیں نازل ہوں، اور سلام ہو ہم پر، اور اللہ کے تمام نیک و صالح بندوں پر، میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود برحق نہیں، اور میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم اس کے بندے، اور رسول ہیں، میں اللہ سے جنت کا طلبگار ہوں، اور جہنم سے پناہ چاہتا ہوں ۔

English Translation

It was narrated that Jabir bin ‘Abdullah said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to teach us the Tashah-hud as he used to teach us a Surah from the Qur’an: ‘Bismillahi wa Billahi; at-tahiyyatu lillahi was-salawatu wat-tayyibatu lillahi; as-salamu ‘alayka ayyuhan- Nabiyyu wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu; as-salamu ‘alayna wa ‘ala ‘ibadillahis-salihin. Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuluhu. As’alu Allahal-jannah, wa a’udhu billahi minannar (In the name of Allah and by the grace of Allah. All compliments are due to Allah and all prayers and good words are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings; peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. I ask Allah for Paradise and I seek refuge with Allah from the Fire).’”
