Ingredients
  1. ½ kg fish
    ½ kg tomatoes
    1 cup oil
    1 bunch coriander
    3 lemons
    5 long chopped green chilies
    1 tsp crushed black pepper
    1 tsp white cumin
    1 tbsp crushed red chillies
    1 tbsp whole coriander
    2 tbsp finely chopped ginger
    For marinating
    1 lemon
    1 tsp turmeric
Method
  • Before washing ½ kg fish, coat it with 2 tbsp vinegar and leave for 5 minutes.
    Then coat 1 lemon juice and 1 tsp turmeric powder and leave for a while again and wash.
    In a wok, add ½ kg chopped tomatoes. Also add 1 tbsp crushed red chillies, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp white cumin and 1 tbsp whole coriander.
    Mix and mash them all together. Cook till tomatoes water evaporated. When water evaporates, add 1 cup oil and stir properly.
    In another wok, heat oil to deep fry fish and place them on top of tomatoes.
    Also add 2 tbsp finely chopped ginger, 5 chopped green chillies, 1 bunch finely chopped coriander, 1 lemon and 1 tsp crushed black pepper.
    Cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Delicious Tamatar Machli is ready to serve.
