It has been always been part of
our lives, yet, scientists and philosophers alike have failed to unanimously
agree to a definition of “love.” Each person views it in a different light and
gives it a unique meaning according to their beliefs.
For some romantis love refers to constantly being in touch with their beloved to
the extent of sacrificing food, drink and sleep.for others it may be love at
first side(read in fatuation),occurring when they lay their eyes open upon a
“hot” boy or girl ! other definitions that crop up vary with age and time;a
child may display more love for his newly acquired toys then his parents, with a
football enthusiast would undoubtedly love the game before anything else.
The dutch painter,Vincent van gogh,said,”the more I think it over,the more I
feel that there is nothing more truly artistic to love people.”does this
statement hold true in our current fast-paced lives where people don’t have time
to look at one another, let alone to love? If asked, most people will vehemently
assert that their lives are brimming with love.
Although polish American pianist Arthur rubinstein meant humanity when he
said,”love people and they will love you back,”in this part of the world, people
decided to follow his advice to the letter rather then in spirit.folks we see
every now and then implement this suggestion by falling in love with every peer
of the opposite sex.
The notion of romantic love though popular is not the only kind of love that
exists.there was those who loved their nation and its people and worked for
their betterment.
Similarly, when people from different walks of life were asked about their
definition of love ,there were a host of answers to choose from.
No matter where you are or whatever your age may be,love is always in the
air, especially in Pakistan where everyday new and unique love-filled sms
messages are sent to beloveds.but the question rises there is this really a love
? that is going on nowadays.we are in love ( so called love ) with someone one
day,and switch to another one after filling our lusts…. Yes,its lust,a lil bit
affection or may be obsession ,what we call love today.
With its contradictions and definitions love remains a feeling that needs to be
experienced and shared.to date no one has been able to understand it,yet all
know the exhilarating feeling that love can bring.the words of American novelist
Zelda Fitzgerald still stand true.”nobody has never measured, not even poets, how
much a heart can hold.”
