How to Be a Good Boss

Understand your role as the boss. You need to motivate your employees and
provide them with the tools needed to get the job done.

Communicate with your employees. Make sure you let them know what is expected of
them. Also make sure that they are kept informed about any changes or
significant happenings at the company.

Set the example in the workplace. Be on time each day, do your job well,
prioritize your tasks and keep organized. It's "monkey see, monkey do" in the
workplace, so make sure that your work habits set a good example for your
employees.
Step4
Exercise your authority. Being a good boss is not all fun and games. Sometimes
you must criticize or discipline your employees. It is your job to make sure
work gets done and company policies and procedures are followed.
Step5
Keep a positive attitude. Give your employees praise when they deserve it. Offer
encouragement on an ongoing basis. A good boss's optimism fosters loyalty and
respect from employees.
Step6
Train your employees. Providing training and continuing education keeps your
employees' skills current. Employees appreciate a good boss who helps them
improve their skills.
