There are thousands of stories which are revolving around us but the real facts are unseen that is cruel secrets of our societies or taboos matter. One of these is the CHILD ABUSE cases or I may correct myself “CHILD ABUSE DISEASE”.
CHILDREN ABUSE is not only a crime but also SIN. There are thousands of cases which are not being recorded, “WHY?” because the people around us denies this cruel and disturbing situation in order to protect their false and fake reputation in this fake society.
An organization named Sahil who is working for child protection plans all over the country has published a report named CRUEL NUMBERS, in which reported cases of child abuse in the year 2018 and 2017 are mentioned.
The data of child abuse shows that a total number of 3832 cases have been reported in newspapers during the year 2018. These cases were reported from all four provinces including Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and GilgitBaltistan (GB).
These cases have increased of more than 11% as compared to the figure 3445 recorded in the year 2017. More than 10 children have been abused per day during the year 2018.
The data shows that out of the total 3832 cases of child abuse, 55% victims were girls and 45% were boys.
The 2018 year in the age brackets of 6-10 years and 11-15 years, boys are more exposed to child sexual abuse as compared to girls. In the age bracket 0-5 years and 16-18 years more girls are exposed to child sexual abuse.
The year 2018, a total number of 3832 cases were reported. Out of this 63% cases were from Punjab, 27% cases from Sindh, 4% cases from KP, 3% cases from Islamabad Capital Territory, 2% cases from Balochistan, 34 cases from AJK and 6 cases were reported from GilgitBaltistan (GB).
In the year 2017, a total 3445 child abuse cases were reported in newspapers from all four provinces including Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit Baltistan (GB), and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).A gender analysis shows that 58% girls and 42% boys have been murdered after sexual abuse in 2017.
Now, these are the case which are actually being reported, if not in some police station but to some newspapers or media links but the point is that when the reported number of cases is so high, what is the number of unreported cases?? The answer could be infinite.
The real problem is lack of awareness among the children as well as the parents because these child predators can be the closed one, not only servants but even family members. This is the reason that most of the unreported cases stay unreported because the child abuser is one of the close relative.
The people of our society needs to understand that being silent about child abuse makes it even worst because the silence of the victim and its supporter, strengthen and encourage the evil intention of child predator. The victim child suffers more through physically and mentally. That’s why a lot of victim child go through underdeveloped personality. It is important to uncover child predator so that the evil person cannot cursed another child with its touch.
The infamous Zainab case in Kasur and the Kasur child abuse scandal are just two infamous incidents which present a very crucial picture of the disease that is brutalizing our society and government officials and other important persons fail to address this issue and even if they do, it is too late and the cycle continues.
