We are moving in the era where a rapidness of technology. The advancement of technology increases day by day. It is obvious that technology is now accessible to everyone. Accessing to internet or social media has become quite common among youngsters.
Privacy is more concern and also an important concept that is constantly evolving due to new technologies and changing social values. The accessibility of our private information which we freely share to everyone via internet with just a sinple click.The Data which we share without our consideration involves Date of Birth, or a family photo. While we download or install any application, it is always asked for number of permissions to have access of our personal data otherwise, we cannot download that application. This thing is quite concerned that we are being compelled to give access of our private information. Our personal data is accessible to multiple parties including companies, government, hackers, stalkers and other third parties. They could have been take multiple advantages of data that are being harassed and celebrated. It comes with associated risks. Billions of records of personal information are stolen every year. Stolen data are now become the profitable business for criminals and Hackers. So, there must be some kind of law and also policies in order to protect our personal information and data.
Even though we already have some laws and policies for controlling cybercrimes in Pakistan.
- If someone intentionally disclose the information and spreading false information related to his/her up to 3 years in prison or up to PKR 1 million in fine, or both.
- if someone takes a photograph or makes a video of any person and displays it publicly in order to blackmailing that person up to 3 years in prison or up to PKR 1 million in fine or both.
Everyone has right to privacy. People should aware about what they are doing. Stop sharing so much personal information online, including your pictures, birthday trips and location because it is more valuable for hackers and stalkers. Do not open unknown links.
