Younger, more hesitant, or less confident readers can be captivated and kept reading by humorous novels. They provide readers with the "feel good" factor and make reading enjoyable.
One of the most incredible feelings a person may have is joy. When we are happy, we don't experience any pain, neglect, fear, self-doubt, or perplexity. We sense a bond with something bigger than ourselves. So let's encourage reading in our children so they can enjoy a wonderful tale and a few chuckles.
A significant study conducted lately in the US demonstrated that children preferred reading novels that made them laugh when reading for enjoyment. And it makes total sense. Everyone enjoys laughing.
