"Every individual has a place
to fill in the world, and it is important in some respect, whether he chooses to
be so or not !"(Hawthorne). It is well said that fortune choose Muhammad Ali
Jinnah as the "Greatest leader of The Nation". It is rule of the Nature that
when a nation is surrounded by dark clouds of disaster and disappointment, God
sends a leader just like silver lining appears on the sky. Muhammad Ali Jinnah
had such characteristics which elevated Him to the height of glory. Such
qualities were nurtured by a long process of his education, training and
environment; he got his early education from "Sindh Madrassa tul Islam" that
laid seeds into the base of his character which brought fruits in the long run.
When he had to go abroad for higher education, he had selected " Lincoln's Inn",
because there were written outside of it ,some prominent lawyers' names among
them the name of Our Holy Prophet (PBUH) was at the top of the list! If he
became a great leader ,it was also due to his choice, his courage, his vision
and endeavors. The circumstances inclined him to pay attention towards political
changes during his education. When a famous personality of the sub- continent"
Dada Bhai Noro Ji" took part in elections there, Muhammad Ali worked day and
night like all students in election campaign. He used to go to "House of
Commons", to listen the speeches of senior politicians. It ,no doubt, enhanced
his political wisdom and insight to look deep into the matters. When he started
practice, he established himself as a lawyer of the first rank. Success always
waited for him !
Hard work and sticking hard to principles, were dominant features of the
personality of our Quaid. He joined Congress, he was called "the ambassador of
Hindu-Muslim unity. "He joined Muslim League ,he become its President. Under his
leadership, the Muslim League contested elections in 1935 and swept the polls.
Test of Time, had revealed to him that the hindu or the british can never become
friends of Muslims. One of his arduous work was to unite the various Muslim
groups. He was the ideological representative of Allama Iqbal and Iqbal did not
let him apart from the Nation. Muslim of the sub-continent gave their trust to
him and he brought them to their destination.
Self-esteem should be learned from the life of The Quaid e Azam. Once ,during
Quaid's speech in White House, Kennedy ,former President of USA said to Jinnah:
"You dont know that you are standing in the greatest building of USA?'
Jinnah replied smiling: "Unfortunately ,you dont know that the greatest building
is under my feet !"(Published in The Daily Tribune, Sep 13,1963)
All of our leaders should follow his foot prints. He was rightly called "The
Father of the Nation".We need leaders like Muhammad Ali Jinnah !
