Madness of Fame
(Syed Manazir-ul-Haq, Karachi)
Today the tendency of off-work,
to have desire to be famed without any achievement and labor and go-ahead from
others has laid down the negative effects on our social life as well as in our
society. Now the people without acquiring the familiarity and know-how of the
essence of any profession and discipline begin to claim of expertise over it.
Why is it happening in our country? It is observed that neither any appropriate
research work is being carried out in our country which is the distinction stone
of the developed countries nor the literacy contribution being created which was
specialty of our predecessor nature and through which they made a lot of
inventions / creations which made them immortal phenomenon as they shed their
perspiration according to the teaching of Allah and His Prophet. Consider how
the tendency of carelessness and idleness is grown in our social life. In the
golden age it happened that a person who entered into any sector he became
sincere to his profession and worked hard with passion and in the long run
achieved the expertise figure according to the saying “My words are
unchallengeable and renowned”. But in the existing period a short group but
influential and active begin to consider his right to be ahead in all sectors of
life by adopting the short path whether it is lawful or unlawful rather making
name with work hard, with honesty and by shedding perspiration. Because this
section is rich and has resources being seen them well-to-do the middle and
lower middle class who are in fact belonged to labor-oriented class have left to
shed perspiration which is disastrous to our Homeland. Now we are witnessing
that the habit of labor is being wiped out leading to laziness and absconding
from work and without getting expertise and skill in any discipline we want to
be praised and famed. We will have to leave the tendency of madness of fame
without achievement and also to give up laziness as well as absconding from
works because work-hard and shedding perspiration has been prerequisite of the
Muslim and through this passion they achieved a lot of success.
The fate of the nation cannot be changed unless they themselves want to change
it by adopting the ways as instructed by Allah and His Prophet. We should not
work for getting praise but to work to fulfill our responsibility and obligation
and give up to build castles in the air. It is necessary to construct ourselves
on sound foundation by way of faith, assurance and perspiration and to say
good-bye to self-posing, self-praising and laziness. If it is become our
temperament it would be the mood of our nation and Insha’Allah our nation would
be admitted as the best and developed nation in the world.
