The Mystery Of The Human Soul
(Muhammad Adnan, Karachi)
People believe that the human
life is because of the soul in the body. In order to confirm the mass of the
soul Dr. Duncan MacDougall in Massachusetts conducted an experiment in 1907. He
placed six dying patients on the bed fit up with sensitive scale and claimed
that the loss of weight was 21 grams.
In 2003 a movie with a title "21 gram" was released based on the experimental
conclusions of Mr. Duncan MacDougall. The experiment performed by him was not so
authentic and do not meet scientific standards that we start believing the soul
weight is 21 grams. Many people believe that the soul is weightless or
immaterial. In different religions the concept of soul is dissimilar.
The soul knowledge provided in different religions and its scientific
evaluations is not so detailed that we anything however all religions of
the world have specific concepts regarding soul. A man after death (losing 21
grams or weightless soul) leaves behind only the best bits of his character,
great regards for others, positive aspects of his life, better ethics, acts of
justice, meaningless devotion and better image of his tongue. After that
everything he leaves behind dissolves his image in the dust that will bury
inside the earth.
If reality of the human soul is 21 grams or immaterial then imagine how this
little or weightless mass demolish the world. Humans shed blood like water and
humans crush humans for their greed and unjustified reasons. In Jungle animals
kill others for their food but human kill's human for no reason in this
civilized world. If thousands of peoples are murder, killed for an unknown
reasons by lethal weapons, drone attacks, suicide bombings and for the sake of
an unjustified honor, everyday. Isn't it the mystery of the human soul which is
immaterial or 21 grams?
