Hijab-A Symbol Of Fear
(Latif Chaudhery, Lahore, Pakistan)
Do you know why our daughters
and sisters do not take hijjab in our privacy? Because, they don't feel any
danger from us! Rathe, they feel secure and protected.
On the very same basis, Quran made this Law that all Muslims (men & women) are
brothers (Akhwatun) and protectors ( Auliaa) of each other.
So, if a woman take hijjab while she is in the company of Muslims then these
people must reconsider their Faith; they are either non believers or not sincere
to God. They are hypocrites. Because they believe in that what they don't
practice.
In a Muslim Society, woman must feel more secure and protected on the streets
than in the house. Because, in the house she may have one or two brothers to
guard her chastity but on the streets she will find every one as her brother.
I wish, our Mullahs, instead of coercing woman for hijjab, should learn and
teach how to treat her as our sister.
In fact, hijjab was introduced as an interim measure. It is effective as long as
there is no Islamic Society to deal with the culprits who tease the chaste
women. Once the society is in place there is no need to be afraid of any evil.
