It is said that “All is fair in
love and war” but that is nothing to do with the real face of life. The value of
romance has been turned into a cash value in recent years. World wide, the
romance is causing millions and billions of dollars in the name of Valentine’s
Day. But only the Valentine’s Day is not responsible for this materialistic
love. The latest romantic movies, the dating websites and other media is equally
responsible for creating sense among the males and females that spending lots of
money, buying expensive gifts and living in a utopian world is actually the
optimum of love or the final destination.
Such colorful media promotions have affected every aspect of life. For example,
the cost of wedding throughout the world has been rocketed in the recent years.
From hiring the wedding planner, photographers and catering to the decoration
and post wedding parties, almost all nations including third world countries
like Pakistan are spending money like water on these unnecessary arrangements.
The idealizing of love, romance and married life is creating more complications
in the lives of the couple. Girls expect the same precious gifts from their
husbands as they use to get on Valentines Day before their before wedding. The
love plots that are created by romantic novels, movies and Television channels
are not close to real life. You cannot follow the instructions of red glossy
magazines that are full of hearts and chocolates to lead your real life.
It is always good to come out of dreams because “When poverty comes in at the
door, love flies out of the window”. Basically, I believe that love does not
mean “falling” but it is actually to “stand up” and take the responsibility. So,
do not ever try to prove that love is blind and do not waste money on such
occasions to prove your love. Despite create an understanding with your love
partner and express your feeling in better non materialistic ways.
