Karachi with a huge population
of almost 20million has witnessed a sudden spike in violence, wave of target
killings and fire raising environment. Karachi is home to the country's main
port, the central bank and stock exchange which have been also affected due to
violence.
The violence has once again raised fear of instability in Karachi which is
Pakistan's commercial hub. People from different backgrounds live in the city in
harmony but terrorist want to spark violence on ethnic basis in order to achieve
their dirty designs. Cruelty is at its maximum, hundreds of people die due to
target killing but no one has ever been arrested. In this intense situation of
Karachi President Asif Ali Zardari is usually upon foreign visits, this shows
least interest of President that in the time of need his presence is usually not
there. The impact of target killing in Karachi has led towards burning down of
dozens of vehicles, petrol pumps and shops. Normal life has come to stand still.
Strict notice of target killing in the city should be taken by government in
order to cope up with this chaotic situation in Karachi. Due to intense
situation in Karachi students also suffer a lot, there institutes remain closed
and examinations are postponed. This violence in the city is ultimately
affecting the economy as well. Due to violence thin trade is done. Before we
take other steps to stop such horrendous activities it is important to address
the root cause of violence. As a nation, we specially our youth is the future of
Pakistan, let's be united to get rid of this violence. We must promote a culture
of tolerance. It is really important to resolve our internal issues so that we
can stay united against the global threat of terrorism otherwise this internal
conflicts might take away the peace of our society so it's time to raise voice
against violence. Let's be united and put a full-stop on such violent
activities.
