friendship
(Inayat Ali Shigri, Karachi)
The word friendship is an
abbreviation in which F stands for frank, R for rescuer, I for intellectual, E
for ethical, N for nimble and D for donor. A person is said to be friend when he
has these qualities. We all should friends because it is famous saying of HAZRAT
MUHAMMAD (PBUH) that “if you make friend then then it means that you have made
your half life.” Friends are blessing of GOD, and that person is the best friend
which inhabits us from doing illegal deeds. That person is poor which has no
friend and more poorer then that is the person who has friend but has lost him.
Real love is rare friendship is also rare. Before making a friend we ought to
investigate about the friend and scrutinize his faithfulness in his religion, is
he wise and ethical. Greedy, eccentric and a fibbing friend are not reliable for
friendship so we should shun from these types of friends. Islam strictly give
emphasize on choosing moral and mature thinking friends.
IMAM JAFFAR SADIQ decreed about a loyal friend that “a good friend is like wind
which passes through lush green garden full of splendid and aromatic flowers,
then the wind takes the scent of flowers with itself and if we smell it
,redolence and aroma comes from the wind but initially this wind has no odor and
when it through the flowers it fills the fragrance. Hazrat MUHAMMAD(PBUH) says
about a bad friend that “ a bad friend is like fire, if play with it, then it
burn us, same as a deceiving friend burns us into ash by turning us towards
errantication. Islam gives us the lesson of peace and friendship. We should
accept the offer for friendship by a prudent friend.
