New Khyber Pakhtunkhwah
(Hafiz Muhammad Faisal Khalid , Lahore)
In general elections held in
2013, imran Khan and his party contested the election with the aim to change the
Pakistan. During election campaign, Imran and his party claimed that they will
change the Pakistan (a state where everyone will be treated on equal bases). But
According to the election results, Imran got majority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwah and
had a chance to establish provincial government in Khyber PakhtunKhwa where he
still has a bright opportunity to deliver his best to the people. In fact he has
chance to prove that his government has ability to change Pakistan. But
unfortunately under the supervision of imran khan Khyber Pakhtunkhwah government
could not achieve even single claimed goals, especially in a province where he
has majority/ authority to change.
Even in local elections, recently held in Khyber Pakhtunkhwah, we experienced
that the ever bad/ poor exercise of local elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwah
practiced under the administration of Khyber Pakhtunkhwah' s provincial
government. This brutal election claimed many lives. Not only, even the
opposition parties including Election Commission of Pakistan are not satisfied
with performance of provincial government and they got some authentic proofs
against the systematic or well organized rigging by the provincial government
and the sitting representatives of provincial government.
As it was highly reported that the sitting provincial minister Ali Gandpur
caught red handed when he was trying to miss use the ballet box in a polling
station where people surrounded him and reported his illegal activities to the
police.
At the same time the provincial government is not ready to accept the
responsibility of historical bad law and order situation during the local
elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwah. Even government is still claiming that it was
the responsibility of the Election commission of Pakistan to maintain the law
and order situation within the province.
On the other side election commission of Pakistan has clearly refused the
allegations by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwah government. According to the ECP
(Election Commission of Pakistan) they have a written agreement with KP
government that shows that the maintenance of law and order was the assignment
of the provincial government of Khyber Pkahtunkhwah.
Now the point is in such bad situation where all parties including Provincial
government and election commission of Pakistan and opposition parties are not
serious to accepting their responsibility, how can we expect transparency from a
biased or political party based government? How can we make sure that there will
not be a single decision or policy based on political revenge? Who will guaranty
that the government of a particular political party will meet the standards of
justice?
These are the few basic questions taking place in every individual's mind. And
if our political parties are really interested to change the Pakistan (develop
the Pakistan) then they must have to accept their responsibilities to pay the
maximum of their best services for the development of country and this strategy
can enable them to deliver their best to a common man. But on the other side of
the picture, if our parties will continue with their previous/ irresponsible
practices, then I can assure you that there is no change going to take place in
this country.
