SCHOOL HW: SUPPROT TO LEARNERS

School Home Work (HW) is very common terminology which means students have to do the school task at their home.

Mostly HW assign to students for practice of exercise or assignment which is taught by the teacher in the class room during class lecture. Some positive and negative aspects HW are tried to disclose here for teachers and parents.

PARENTS ASSESSMENT
Parents can know the interest of their kids in different subjects which will help them to decide their career planning rather than entrenched their own desire to kids. Its also evaluate strong and weak subjects of the children. It supports kids to prepare their examination.

During the home work assignments kids discussed their educational problem day to day activities from their parents.

TEACHER ARBITRATOR
HW is communication channel between the students and teacher through this channel teacher understand the attitude and learning ability of a student. Appreciation words for hard working students create positive competitive environment in the class room. Also written remarks on their note book like “Excellent, Good, Fair” or on their assignment encourage to show their best ability in study.

Teachers also assess their teaching methodology, deliver rate of knowledge to student or any other limitation from response of HW. If they include element of innovation in HW which enhance our students learning capability, writing skill and

understanding to subjects from early classes. Teacher also correlates HW and Class work which will also linkage exercises. It should always assign in balance way.

RECAPITULATE
Usually, Parents and teacher s don’t considered HW and assignment as learning tools in our school culture. They considered it is a routine work. This negative approach also shrinks the quality education and learning abilities of the students. If school managements (Principal, Administrator, Head Master, Director) strong supportive plan of primary and secondary classes HW which can bring transform the quality education but teacher and educationist have to think over it and put his share for this purpose.

HW assign in balance way mostly teacher and school management allocate more assignment to their students specially in weekend days. Teachers don’t consider that student also need relaxes, rest, physical and mental exercise which is also need for the good student. Over burden HW create mental and physical problem for the students. They lapse their family function, outings due to over burden of school assignment. They also avoid physical and mental exercise & games and comment that they don’t have enough time to take part such activities. Now, it is time for the teachers and educational experts to change the traditional methods of school home work. They should include interesting, innovative and recreational activities in their HW.

Modern teaching techniques should be use for the children in Pre-primary, Primary and Middle classes like IQ level assessment during the checking of home work. Communicative skills of students also improve by the teacher guidance during listen oral question, poem/rhyme. It will be considered a positive step for the quality education from grass root level. Parent and teacher share their contribution equally we produce good students for the future and higher classes like SSC, HSC etc.
