Gender in the discourse ofculture, class and status
(Muhammad Faizan Jameel, )
Women roles are culturally
define in context of historic attributes; these defined roles are controlled by
the dominant class to protect their will of describing social practices.
Cultural barrios are not only the reason towards the marginalization of women
population regarding social autonomy; there is some other factors like politics,
hierarchal structure, existence of formal values etc. In any social system there
is anoverall setup of identity in the shape of culture and in that big culture
setup there are some sub-cultures as well, sometimes these sub-cultures create
an environment of disorganization while implementing their cultural concept to
get hegemony in the society. In Most of the societies women are treated as the
playing tool for getting dominance and these types of actions are justified
through the false interpretations of traditional concepts and views. Those
societies that have multi-culturalpopulation; sometimes create an environment of
anomy when multiple groups want to address or implement their group believes in
the society. In these type of countries, the main victims are the women
population that are conceive as marginalize side, not just at the overall
scenario but also at the sub-group statuses.
Cultural shift in different paradigms of our social structures have its
influence on different aspects of gender based identities, in that case the role
of woman exists at the sub-ordinate level. Women are supposed to perform a
supportive role to protect the decisions of dominant class. The religious
identities became a stigma for a particular class that exists in minority
status. These type of stigmas are not labeled gender or sex vise, it contains
the politic, structural and hegemonic inputs on both the genders, like the
offering religious duties in such society where the number of that particular
followers are minorities, face immense pressure to live according to their
religious attributes. We should have to create such type of neutral system that
provide equal opportunities to all types of demographic characters of the
society to achieve a organize social status.
