Gender as a social construct

(Muhammad Faizan Jameel, )

As the definition of ‘gender’ is concern, it may has the same concept of describing the term gender in all parts of the world, but the role of gender is having different explanations and perceptions in different societies, the role of gender is not collectively described e.g. the social duties of a Siberian woman is different from an Egyptian women in her daily day routine, So the role of women is having differences all across the regions. Our social life is heavily bounded with the specific gender baserestrictions, as we notice most of the fieldwork and outside occupations are fixed for the men, on the other hand women are not supposed to perform such type of work that contains male dominance in the society.

The concept of gender and sex is having different interpetations, grinder is a socially determined term where as Sex is describes on the biological differences, but these both terms are related witheach other specially when we talk about the delivering of role, duties and having opportunities in the society, e.g. because men are biological stronger than the women, so man get such type of role in the society that compete with theirpysical capabilities. On the other hand, women are consider as less tough fighter and the duties impose on them is also not veryhard, so as we conclude we can say that these conceptualizations regarding gender andsexual differences lead the un-equal environment between male and female in our society.
