كَیْفَ وَ اِنْ یَّظْهَرُوْا عَلَیْكُمْ لَا یَرْقُبُوْا فِیْكُمْ اِلًّا وَّ لَا ذِمَّةًؕ-یُرْضُوْنَكُمْ بِاَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَ تَاْبٰى قُلُوْبُهُمْۚ-وَ اَكْثَرُهُمْ فٰسِقُوْنَ ﴿۸﴾

بھلا کیونکر (ف۱۹) ان کا حال تو یہ ہے کہ تم پر قابو پائیں تو نہ قرابت کا لحاظ کریں نہ عہد کا، اپنے منہ سے تمہیں راضی کرتے ہیں (ف۲۰) اور ان کے دلوں میں انکار ہے اور ان میں اکثر بے حکم ہیں (ف۲۱) ﴿۸﴾
(ترجمہ: کنزالایمان) (بھلا ان سے عہد) کیونکر (پورا کیا جائے جب ان کا یہ حال ہے) کہ اگر تم پر غلبہ پالیں تو نہ قرابت کا لحاظ کریں نہ عہد کا۔ یہ منہ سے تو تمہیں خوش کر دیتے ہیں لیکن ان کے دل (ان باتوں کو) قبول نہیں کرتے۔ اور ان میں اکثر نافرمان ہیں ﴿۸﴾

How (can there be any treaty for the others) when, if they have the upper hand of you, they regard not pact nor honour in respect of you? They satisfy you with their mouths the while their hearts refuse. And most of them are wrongdoers. ﴾8﴿
