اَللّٰهُ یَتَوَفَّى الْاَنْفُسَ حِیْنَ مَوْتِهَا وَ الَّتِیْ لَمْ تَمُتْ فِیْ مَنَامِهَاۚ-فَیُمْسِكُ الَّتِیْ قَضٰى عَلَیْهَا الْمَوْتَ وَ یُرْسِلُ الْاُخْرٰۤى اِلٰۤى اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّىؕ-اِنَّ فِیْ ذٰلِكَ لَاٰیٰتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ یَّتَفَكَّرُوْنَ ﴿۴۲﴾

اللہ جانوں کو وفات دیتا ہے ان کی موت کے وقت اور جو نہ مریں انہیں ان کے سوتے میں پھر جس پر موت کا حکم فرمادیا اسے روک رکھتا ہے (ف۹۹) اور دوسری (ف۱۰۰) ایک میعاد مقرر تک چھوڑ دیتا ہے (ف۱۰۱) بیشک اس میں ضرور نشانیاں ہیں سوچنے والوں کے لیے (ف۱۰۲) ﴿۴۲﴾
(ترجمہ: کنزالایمان) خدا لوگوں کے مرنے کے وقت ان کی روحیں قبض کرلیتا ہے اور جو مرے نہیں (ان کی روحیں) سوتے میں (قبض کرلیتا ہے) پھر جن پر موت کا حکم کرچکتا ہے ان کو روک رکھتا ہے اور باقی روحوں کو ایک وقت مقرر تک کے لئے چھوڑ دیتا ہے۔ جو لوگ فکر کرتے ہیں ان کے لئے اس میں نشانیاں ہیں ﴿۴۲﴾

Surah Zumar Ayat 42 with English Translation

Allah receiveth (men's) souls at the time of their death, and that (soul) which dieth not (yet) in its sleep. He keepeth that (soul) for which He hath ordained death and dismisseth the rest till an appointed term. Lo! herein verily are portents for people who take thought. ﴾42﴿
