Dua e Qunoot (Recited in Witr Prayer "Hanafi")

Dua e Qunoot is a specific supplication that Muslims practice, which is recited during the Witr prayer, a prayer that is offered following the prayer that is offered at night, known as Isha. The meaning of the word Qunoot is humility, devotion, and obedience towards Allah (SWT). This supplication was taught by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and has a sincere meaning for every believer. When the individuals recite Dua e qunoot, Muslims are going to Allah (SWT) and requesting guidance, forgiveness, as Allah (SWT) is Al-Ghafoor, the Most forgiving one, and protection from the difficulties in life.

Muslims raise their hands after ruku to recite this powerful literal invocation during Witr. Through duae qunoot, a believer acknowledges their weakness and asks Allah (SWT) to assist in all matters. It brings home a reminder that no one has absolute power over anyone or anything except Allah (SWT), and He alone can bestow safety, blessings, and mercy. For those who do not know it by heart, learning it is encouraged because it is short and very easy to learn. Hence, the dua qunoot is often called witr ki dua in daily conversations.
