Narrated Samurah bin Jundab: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Do not name your boy Rabah, nor Aflah, nor Yasar, nor Najih, so that it may be said: 'Is he there?' and it may be said: 'No.'

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ، عَنْ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ عُمَيْلَةَ الْفَزَارِيِّ، عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدَبٍ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا تُسَمِّ غُلَامَكَ رَبَاحٌ وَلَا أَفْلَحُ وَلَا يَسَارٌ وَلَا نَجِيحٌ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يُقَالُ:‏‏‏‏ أَثَمَّ هُوَ ؟ فَيُقَالُ:‏‏‏‏ لَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

سمرہ بن جندب رضی الله عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”تم اپنے غلام کا نام رباح، افلح، یسار اور نجیح نہ رکھو ( کیونکہ ) پوچھا جائے کہ کیا وہ یہاں ہے؟ تو کہا جائے گا: نہیں“ ۱؎۔
