حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شَيْخٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ تَلَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ:‏‏‏‏ وَإِنْ تَتَوَلَّوْا يَسْتَبْدِلْ قَوْمًا غَيْرَكُمْ ثُمَّ لا يَكُونُوا أَمْثَالَكُمْ سورة محمد آية 38، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ وَمَنْ يُسْتَبْدَلُ بِنَا ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَضَرَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى مَنْكِبِ سَلْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا وَقَوْمُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏هَذَا وَقَوْمُهُ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ فِي إِسْنَادِهِ مَقَالٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ رَوَى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ أَيْضًا هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ.

Urdu Translation

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک دن یہ آیت «وإن تتولوا يستبدل قوما غيركم ثم لا يكونوا أمثالكم» ”اے عرب کے لوگو! تم ( ایمان و جہاد سے ) پھر جاؤ گے تو تمہارے بدلے اللہ دوسری قوم کو لا کر کھڑا کرے گا، وہ تمہارے جیسے نہیں ( بلکہ تم سے اچھے ) ہوں گے“ ( محمد: ۳۸ ) ، تلاوت فرمائی، صحابہ نے کہا: ہمارے بدلے کون لوگ لائے جائیں گے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سلمان کے کندھے پر ہاتھ مارا ( رکھا ) پھر فرمایا: ”یہ اور اس کی قوم، یہ اور اس کی قوم“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث غریب ہے، ۲- اس کی سند میں کلام ہے، ۳- عبداللہ بن جعفر نے بھی یہ حدیث علاء بن عبدالرحمٰن سے روایت کی ہے ( ان کی روایت آگے آ رہی ہے ) ۔

English Translation

Narrated Abu Hurairah: One day, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited this Ayah: 'And if you turn away, He will replace you with other people; then they will not be like you (47:38).' They said: 'And who will replace us?' So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) patted the shoulder of Salman, then he said: 'This one and his people, this one and his people.'
