حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَمَّا حُمِلَتْ جَنَازَةُ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ الْمُنَافِقُونَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا أَخَفَّ جَنَازَتَهُ،‏‏‏‏ وَذَلِكَ لِحُكْمِهِ فِي بَنِي قُرَيْظَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ الْمَلَائِكَةَ كَانَتْ تَحْمِلُهُ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ.

Urdu Translation

انس بن مالک رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   جب سعد بن معاذ رضی الله عنہ کا جنازہ اٹھایا گیا تو منافقین کہا: کتنا ہلکا ہے ان کا جنازہ؟ اور یہ طعن انہوں نے اس لیے کیا کہ سعد نے بنی قریظہ کے قتل کا فیصلہ فرمایا تھا، جب نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اس کی خبر ہوئی تو آپ نے فرمایا: ”فرشتے اسے اٹھائے ہوئے تھے“ ۱؎۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح غریب ہے۔

English Translation

Narrated Anas bin Malik: When the funeral of Sa'd bin Mu'adh was carried, the hypocrites said: 'How light his funeral is.' And this was due to his judgment concerning Banu Quraizah. So this reached the Prophet (ﷺ), and he said: 'Indeed, the angels were carrying him.'
