Anas bin Malik narrated that : a man came to the Prophet and said: My eyes are bothering me, can I use Kuhl while I am fasting? He said: Yes.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ وَاصِلٍ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَطِيَّةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاتِكَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اشْتَكَتْ عَيْنِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَفَأَكْتَحِلُ وَأَنَا صَائِمٌ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ . قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ أَبِي رَافِعٍ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أَنَسٍ حَدِيثٌ لَيْسَ إِسْنَادُهُ بِالْقَوِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا يَصِحُّ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي هَذَا الْبَاب شَيْءٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو عَاتِكَةَ يُضَعَّفُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَاخْتَلَفَ أَهْلُ الْعِلْمِ فِي الْكُحْلِ لِلصَّائِمِ فَكَرِهَهُ بَعْضُهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ قَوْلُ سُفْيَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَحْمَدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَخَّصَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ فِي الْكُحْلِ لِلصَّائِمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهُوَ قَوْلُ الشَّافِعِيِّ.

انس بن مالک رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   ایک شخص نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آ کر پوچھا: میری آنکھ آ گئی ہے، کیا میں سرمہ لگا لوں، میں روزے سے ہوں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”ہاں“ ( لگا لو ) ۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- انس کی حدیث کی سند قوی نہیں ہے، ۲- اس باب میں نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے مروی کوئی چیز صحیح نہیں، ۳- ابوعاتکہ ضعیف قرار دیے جاتے ہیں، ۴- اس باب میں ابورافع سے بھی روایت ہے، ۵- صائم کے سرمہ لگانے میں اہل علم کا اختلاف ہے، بعض نے اسے مکروہ قرار دیا ہے ۱؎ یہ سفیان ثوری، ابن مبارک، احمد اور اسحاق بن راہویہ کا قول ہے اور بعض اہل علم نے روزہ دار کو سرمہ لگانے کی رخصت دی ہے اور یہ شافعی کا قول ہے۔
