Narrated Abu Huraira: I have memorized two kinds of knowledge from Allah's Apostle . I have propagated one of them to you and if I propagated the second, then my pharynx (throat) would be cut (i.e. killed).

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَخِي ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : حَفِظْتُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وِعَاءَيْنِ ، فَأَمَّا أَحَدُهُمَا فَبَثَثْتُهُ ، وَأَمَّا الْآخَرُ فَلَوْ بَثَثْتُهُ قُطِعَ هَذَا الْبُلْعُومُ .

ہم سے اسماعیل نے بیان کیا، ان سے ان کے بھائی (عبدالحمید) نے ابن ابی ذئب سے نقل کیا۔ وہ سعید المقبری سے روایت کرتے ہیں، وہ ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے، وہ فرماتے ہیں کہ   میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ( علم کے ) دو برتن یاد کر لیے ہیں، ایک کو میں نے پھیلا دیا ہے اور دوسرا برتن اگر میں پھیلاؤں تو میرا یہ نرخرا کاٹ دیا جائے۔ امام بخاری رحمہ اللہ نے فرمایا کہ «بلعوم» سے مراد وہ نرخرا ہے جس سے کھانا اترتا ہے۔
