Baab Hiba Ke Masail Fazeelat Aur Targheeb Ka Bayan

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : رَأَى عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ حُلَّةً سِيَرَاءَ عِنْدَ بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، لَوِ اشْتَرَيْتَهَا فَلَبِسْتَهَا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ ، وَلِلْوَفْدِ قَالَ : إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُهَا مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ ، ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ حُلَلٌ فَأَعْطَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عُمَرَ مِنْهَا حُلَّةً ، وَقَالَ : أَكَسَوْتَنِيهَا ، وَقُلْتَ فِي حُلَّةِ عُطَارِدٍ مَا قُلْتَ ؟ فَقَالَ : إِنِّي لَمْ أَكْسُكَهَا لِتَلْبَسَهَا ، فَكَسَاهَا عُمَرُ أَخًا لَهُ بِمَكَّةَ مُشْرِكًا .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے عبداللہ بن مسلمہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے امام مالک نے نافع سے اور ان سے ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ   عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے دیکھا کہ مسجد کے دروازے پر ایک ریشمی حلہ ( فروخت ہو رہا ) ہے۔ آپ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عرض کیا، کہ کیا اچھا ہوتا اگر آپ اسے خرید لیتے اور جمعہ کے دن اور وفود کی ملاقات کے موقع پر اسے زیب تن فرما لیا کرتے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اس کا جواب یہ دیا کہ اسے وہی لوگ پہنتے ہیں جن کا آخرت میں کوئی حصہ نہیں ہو گا۔ کچھ دنوں بعد آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے یہاں بہت سے ( ریشمی ) حلے آئے اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک حلہ ان میں سے عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کو بھی عنایت فرمایا۔ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اس پر عرض کیا کہ آپ یہ مجھے پہننے کے لیے عنایت فرما رہے ہیں۔ حالانکہ آپ خود عطارد کے حلوں کے بارے میں جو کچھ فرمانا تھا فرما چکے ہیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ میں نے اسے تمہیں پہننے کے لیے نہیں دیا ہے۔ چنانچہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے اسے اپنے ایک مشرک بھائی کو دے دیا، جو مکے میں رہتا تھا۔

English Translation

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: `Umar bin Al-Khattab saw a silken dress (cloak) being sold at the gate of the Mosque and said, O Allah's Apostle! Would that you buy it and wear it on Fridays and when the delegates come to you! Allah's Apostle said, This is worn by the one who will have no share in the Hereafter. Later on some silk dresses were brought and Allah's Apostle sent one of them to `Umar. `Umar said, How do you give me this to wear while you said what you said about the dress of 'Utarid? Allah's Apostle said, I have not given it to you to wear. So, `Umar gave it to a pagan brother of his in Mecca.
