حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : فَتَلَاحَقَ بِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَنَا عَلَى نَاضِحٍ لَنَا قَدْ أَعْيَا فَلَا يَكَادُ يَسِيرُ ، فَقَالَ لِي : مَا لِبَعِيرِكَ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : عَيِيَ ، قَالَ : فَتَخَلَّفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَزَجَرَهُ وَدَعَا لَهُ فَمَا زَالَ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْإِبِلِ قُدَّامَهَا يَسِيرُ ، فَقَالَ لِي : كَيْفَ تَرَى بَعِيرَكَ ؟ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : بِخَيْرٍ قَدْ أَصَابَتْهُ بَرَكَتُكَ ، قَالَ : أَفَتَبِيعُنِيهِ ، قَالَ : فَاسْتَحْيَيْتُ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَنَا نَاضِحٌ غَيْرُهُ ، قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : فَبِعْنِيهِ فَبِعْتُهُ إِيَّاهُ عَلَى أَنَّ لِي فَقَارَ ظَهْرهِ حَتَّى أَبْلُغَ الْمَدِينَةَ ، قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي عَرُوسٌ فَاسْتَأْذَنْتُهُ فَأَذِنَ لِي ، فَتَقَدَّمْتُ النَّاسَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ حَتَّى أَتَيْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَلَقِيَنِي خَالِي فَسَأَلَنِي عَنِ الْبَعِيرِ ، فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ بِمَا صَنَعْتُ فِيهِ فَلَامَنِي ، قَالَ : وَقَدْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لِي : حِينَ اسْتَأْذَنْتُهُ ، هَلْ تَزَوَّجْتَ بِكْرًا أَمْ ثَيِّبًا ؟ فَقُلْتُ : تَزَوَّجْتُ ثَيِّبًا ، فَقَالَ : هَلَّا تَزَوَّجْتَ بِكْرًا تُلَاعِبُهَا وَتُلَاعِبُكَ ، قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ تُوُفِّيَ وَالِدِي أَوِ اسْتُشْهِدَ وَلِي أَخَوَاتٌ صِغَارٌ فَكَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَتَزَوَّجَ مِثْلَهُنَّ فَلَا تُؤَدِّبُهُنَّ ، وَلَا تَقُومُ عَلَيْهِنَّ فَتَزَوَّجْتُ ثَيِّبًا لِتَقُومَ عَلَيْهِنَّ وَتُؤَدِّبَهُنَّ ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَدِينَةَ غَدَوْتُ عَلَيْهِ بِالْبَعِيرِ ، فَأَعْطَانِي ثَمَنَهُ وَرَدَّهُ عَلَيَّ ، قَالَ الْمُغِيرَةُ : هَذَا فِي قَضَائِنَا حَسَنٌ لَا نَرَى بِهِ بَأْسًا .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے اسحاق بن ابراہیم نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو جریر نے خبر دی، انہیں مغیرہ نے، انہیں شعبی نے اور ان سے جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ   میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ ایک غزوہ ( جنگ تبوک ) میں شریک تھا۔ انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پیچھے سے آ کر میرے پاس تشریف لائے۔ میں اپنے پانی لادنے والے ایک اونٹ پر سوار تھا۔ چونکہ وہ تھک چکا تھا، اس لیے آہستہ آہستہ چل رہا تھا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے دریافت فرمایا کہ جابر! تمہارے اونٹ کو کیا ہو گیا ہے؟ میں نے عرض کیا کہ تھک گیا ہے۔ جابر رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پیچھے گئے اور اسے ڈانٹا اور اس کے لیے دعا کی۔ پھر تو وہ برابر دوسرے اونٹوں کے آگے آگے چلتا رہا۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دریافت فرمایا، اپنے اونٹ کے متعلق کیا خیال ہے؟ میں نے کہا کہ اب اچھا ہے۔ آپ کی برکت سے ایسا ہو گیا ہے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا پھر کیا اسے بیچو گے؟ انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ میں شرمندہ ہو گیا، کیونکہ ہمارے پاس پانی لانے کو اس کے سوا اور کوئی اونٹ نہیں رہا تھا۔ مگر میں نے عرض کیا، جی ہاں! آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا پھر بیچ دے۔ چنانچہ میں نے وہ اونٹ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو بیچ دیا اور یہ طے پایا کہ مدینہ تک میں اسی پر سوار ہو کر جاؤں گا۔ بیان کیا کہ میں نے عرض کیا، یا رسول اللہ! میری شادی ابھی نئی ہوئی ہے۔ میں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ( آگے بڑھ کر اپنے گھر جانے کی ) اجازت چاہی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اجازت عنایت فرما دی۔ اس لیے میں سب سے پہلے مدینہ پہنچ آیا۔ جب ماموں سے ملاقات ہوئی تو انہوں نے مجھ سے اونٹ کے متعلق پوچھا۔ جو معاملہ میں کر چکا تھا اس کی انہیں اطلاع دی۔ تو انہوں نے مجھے برا بھلا کہا۔ ( ایک اونٹ تھا تیرے پاس وہ بھی بیچ ڈالا اب پانی کس پر لائے گا ) جب میں نے نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اجازت چاہی تھی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے دریافت فرمایا تھا کہ کنواری سے شادی کی ہے یا بیوہ سے؟ میں نے عرض کیا تھا بیوہ سے اس پر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا تھا کہ باکرہ سے کیوں نہ کی، وہ بھی تمہارے ساتھ کھیلتی اور تم بھی اس کے ساتھ کھیلتے۔ ( کیونکہ جابر رضی اللہ عنہ بھی ابھی کنوارے تھے ) میں نے کہا یا رسول اللہ! میرے باپ کی وفات ہو گئی ہے یا ( یہ کہا کہ ) وہ ( احد ) میں شہید ہو چکے ہیں اور میری چھوٹی چھوٹی بہنیں ہیں۔ اس لیے مجھے اچھا نہیں معلوم ہوا کہ انہیں جیسی کسی لڑکی کو بیاہ کے لاؤں، جو نہ انہیں ادب سکھا سکے نہ ان کی نگرانی کر سکے۔ اس لیے میں نے بیوہ سے شادی کی تاکہ وہ ان کی نگرانی کرے اور انہیں ادب سکھائے۔ انہوں نے بیان کیا، پھر جب نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مدینہ پہنچے تو صبح کے وقت میں اسی اونٹ پر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوا۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھے اس اونٹ کی قیمت عطا فرمائی اور پھر وہ اونٹ بھی واپس کر دیا۔ مغیرہ راوی رحمہ اللہ نے کہا کہ ہمارے نزدیک بیع میں یہ شرط لگانا اچھا ہے کچھ برا نہیں۔

English Translation

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: I participated in a Ghazwa along with Allah's Apostle The Prophet met me (on the way) while I was riding a camel of ours used for irrigation and it had got so tired that it could hardly walk. The Prophet asked me, What is wrong with the camel? I replied, It has got tired. So. Allah's Apostle came from behind it and rebuked it and prayed for it so it started surpassing the other camels and going ahead of them. Then he asked me, How do you find your camel (now)? I replied, I find it quite well, now as it has received your blessings. He said, Will you sell it to me? I felt shy (to refuse his offer) though it was the only camel for irrigation we had. So, I said, Yes. He said, Sell it to me then. I sold it to him on the condition that I should keep on riding it till I reached Medina. Then I said, O Allah's Apostle! I am a bridegroom, and requested him to allow me to go home. He allowed me, and I set out for Medina before the people till I reached Medina, where I met my uncle, who asked me about the camel and I informed him all about it and he blamed me for that. When I took the permission of Allah's Apostle he asked me whether I had married a virgin or a matron and I replied that I had married a matron. He said, Why hadn't you married a virgin who would have played with you, and you would have played with her? I replied, O Allah's Apostle! My father died (or was martyred) and I have some young sisters, so I felt it not proper that I should marry a young girl like them who would neither teach them manners nor serve them. So, I have married a matron so that she may serve them and teach them manners. When Allah's Apostle arrived in Medina, I took the camel to him the next morning and he gave me its price and gave me the camel itself as well.
