Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: I said, O Allah's Apostle! We have slaughtered a young sheep of ours and have ground one Sa of barley. So, I invite you along with some persons. So, the Prophet said in a loud voice, O the people of the Trench! Jabir had prepared Sur so come along.

حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَنْظَلَةُ بْنُ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مِينَاءَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ذَبَحْنَا بُهَيْمَةً لَنَا وَطَحَنْتُ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ ، فَتَعَالَ أَنْتَ وَنَفَرٌ ، فَصَاحَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا أَهْلَ الْخَنْدَقِ إِنَّ جَابِرًا قَدْ صَنَعَ سُؤْرًا فَحَيَّ هَلًا بِكُمْ .

ہم سے عمرو بن علی فلاس نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے ابوعاصم نے بیان کیا ‘ انہیں حنظلہ بن ابی سفیان نے خبر دی ‘ انہیں سعید بن میناء نے خبر دی ‘ کہا کہ میں نے جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنا۔ آپ نے بیان کیا ‘ کہ   میں نے ( جنگ خندق میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو بھوکا پا کر چپکے سے ) عرض کیا: یا رسول اللہ! ہم نے ایک چھوٹا سا بکری کا بچہ ذبح کیا ہے۔ اور ایک صاع جو کا آٹا پکوایا ہے۔ اس لیے آپ دو چار آدمیوں کو ساتھ لے کر تشریف لائیں۔ لیکن آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے بآواز بلند فرمایا ”اے خندق کھودنے والو! جابر نے دعوت کا کھانا تیار کر لیا ہے۔ آؤ چلو ‘ جلدی چلو۔“
