Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah: On the day of Khaibar, Allah's Apostle forbade the eating of donkey meat and allowed the eating of horse meat.

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ عَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِيَّةِ ، وَرَخَّصَ فِي الْخَيْلِ .

ہم سے سلیمان بن حرب نے بیان کیا ‘ کہا ہم سے حماد بن زید نے ‘ ان سے عمرو نے ان سے محمد بن علی نے اور ان سے جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما نے بیان کیا کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے غزوہ خیبر کے موقع پر گدھے کے گوشت کھانے کی ممانعت کی تھی اور گھوڑوں کے گوشت کھانے کی اجازت دی تھی۔
