Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said: Whoever amongst you swears, (saying by error) in his oath 'By Al-Lat and Al- Uzza', then he should say, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And whoever says to his companions, 'Come let me gamble' with you, then he must give something in charity (as an expiation for such a sin). (See Hadith No. 645)

حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ حَلَفَ مِنْكُمْ فَقَالَ فِي حَلِفِهِ بِاللَّاتِ وَالْعُزَّى فَلْيَقُلْ : لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ ، وَمَنْ قَالَ لِصَاحِبهِ : تَعَالَ أُقَامِرْكَ ، فَلْيَتَصَدَّقْ .

مجھ سے اسحاق بن راہویہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم کو ابوالمغیرہ نے خبر دی، کہا ہم سے امام اوزاعی نے بیان کیا انہوں نے کہا ہم سے زہری نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے حمید بن عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف نے، انہوں نے ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہ   رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ”تم میں سے جس نے لات، عزیٰ کی ( یا دوسرے بتوں کی ) قسم کھائی تو اسے «لا إله إلا الله‏.‏» پڑھنا چاہیئے اور جس نے اپنے ساتھی سے کہا کہ آؤ جوا کھیلیں تو اسے بطور کفارہ صدقہ دینا چاہیئے۔“
