حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي مُوسَى ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَدْعُو : اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي خَطِيئَتِي ، وَجَهْلِي ، وَإِسْرَافِي فِي أَمْرِي ، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي ، اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي هَزْلِي ، وَجِدِّي ، وَخَطَايَايَ ، وَعَمْدِي ، وَكُلُّ ذَلِكَ عِنْدِي .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے محمد بن مثنیٰ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے عبیداللہ بن عبدالمجید نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے اسرائیل نے بیان کیا، ان سے ابواسحاق نے بیان کیا،   ان سے ابوبکر بن ابی موسیٰ اور ابوبردہ نے میرا خیال ہے کہ ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ کے حوالہ سے کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم یہ دعا کیا کرتے تھے «اللهم اغفرلي خطيئتي وجهلي وإسرافي في أمري،‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏وما أنت أعلم به مني،‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏اللهم اغفر لي هزلي وجدي وخطاى وعمدي،‏‏‏‏ ‏‏‏‏وكل ذلك عندي‏ ‏‏.‏» ”اے اللہ! میری مغفرت فرما میری خطاؤں میں، میری نادانی میں اور میری کسی معاملہ میں زیادتی میں، ان باتوں میں جن کا تو مجھ سے زیادہ جاننے والا ہے۔ اے اللہ! میری مغفرت کر میرے ہنسی مزاح اور سنجیدگی میں اور میرے ارادہ میں اور یہ سب کچھ میری ہی طرف سے ہیں۔“

English Translation

Narrated Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari: The Prophet used to invoke Allah, saying, Allahumma ighfirli khati'ati wa jahli wa israfi fi `Amri, wa ma anta a-'lamu bihi minni. Allahumma ighfirli hazali wa jiddi wa khata'i wa amdi, wa kullu dhalika 'indi.
