حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَكِيمُ بْنُ أَبِي حُرَّةَ الْأَسْلَمِيُّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، سُئِلَ عَنْ رَجُلٍ نَذَرَ أَنْ لَا يَأْتِيَ عَلَيْهِ يَوْمٌ إِلَّا صَامَ ، فَوَافَقَ يَوْمَ أَضْحًى أَوْ فِطْرٍ ، فَقَالَ : لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ ، لَمْ يَكُنْ يَصُومُ يَوْمَ الْأَضْحَى وَالْفِطْرِ ، وَلَا يَرَى صِيَامَهُمَا .

Urdu Translation

ہم سے محمد بن ابوبکر مقدمی نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے فضیل بن سلیمان نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے کہا ہم سے موسیٰ بن عقبہ نے بیان کیا، کہا ہم سے حکیم بن ابی حرہ اسلمی نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے سنا   ان سے ایسے شخص کے متعلق پوچھا گیا جس نے نذر مانی ہو کہ کچھ مخصوص دنوں میں روزے رکھے گا۔ پھر اتفاق سے انہیں دنوں میں بقر عید یا عید کے دن پڑ گئے ہوں؟ عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما نے کہا کہ تمہارے لیے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی زندگی بہترین نمونہ ہے۔ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بقر عید اور عید کے دن روزے نہیں رکھتے تھے اور نہ ان دنوں میں روزے کو جائز سمجھتے تھے۔

English Translation

Narrated `Abdullah bin `Umar: that he was asked about a man who had vowed that he would fast all the days of his life then the day of `Id al Adha or `Id-al-Fitr came. `Abdullah bin `Umar said: You have indeed a good example in Allah's Apostle. He did not fast on the day of `Id al Adha or the day of `Id-al-Fitr, and we do not intend fasting on these two days.
