حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ زُهَيْرُ: حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ: دَخَلَتْ عَلَيَّ عَجُوزَانِ مِنْ عُجُزِ يَهُودِ الْمَدِينَةِ، فَقَالَتَا: إِنَّ أَهْلَ الْقُبُورِ يُعَذَّبُونَ فِي قُبُورِهِمْ، قَالَتْ: فَكَذَّبْتُهُمَا وَلَمْ أُنْعِمْ أَنْ أُصَدِّقَهُمَا، فَخَرَجَتَا وَدَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ عَجُوزَيْنِ مِنْ عُجُزِ يَهُودِ الْمَدِينَةِ دَخَلَتَا عَلَيَّ، فَزَعَمَتَا أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْقُبُورِ يُعَذَّبُونَ فِي قُبُورِهِمْ، فَقَالَ: «صَدَقَتَا، إِنَّهُمْ يُعَذَّبُونَ عَذَابًا تَسْمَعُهُ الْبَهَائِمُ» قَالَتْ: «فَمَا رَأَيْتُهُ، بَعْدُ فِي صَلَاةٍ إِلَّا يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ»

Urdu Translation

  ابو وائل ( شقیق بن سلمہ ) نے مسروق سے اور انھوں نے حضرت عائشہ ؓ سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے کہا : مدینہ کے یہودیوں کی بوڑھی عورتوں میں سے دو بوڑھیاں میرے گھر آئیں اور انھوں نے کہا : قبروں والوں کو ان کی قبروں میں عذاب دیا جاتا ہے ۔ میں نے ان دونوں کو جھٹلایا اور ان کی تصدیق کےلیے ہاں تک کہنا گوارانہ کیا ، وہ چلی گئیں اور رسول اللہ ﷺ میرے پاس تشریف لائے تو میں نے آپ سے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول ! میرے پاس مدینہ کی بوڑھی یہودی عورتوں میں سے دو بوڑھیاں آئی تھیں ، ان کا خیا ل تھا کہ قبر والوں کو ان کی قبروں میں عذاب دیا جاتا ہے ۔ آپ نے ( کچھ دن گزر نے کے بعد ) فرمایا : ’’ان دونوں نے سچ کہا تھا ۔ ( قبروں میں ) ان ( کافروں ، گنا گاروں ) کو ایسا عذاب ہوتا ہے کہ اسے مویشی بھی سنتے ہیں ۔ ‘ ‘ اس کے بعد میں نے آپ کو دیکھا آپ ہر نماز میں قبر کے عذاب سے پناہ مانگتے تھے ۔

English Translation

A'isha reported: There came to me two old women from the old Jewesses of Medina and said: The people of the grave are tormented in their graves. I contradicted them and I did not deem it proper to testify them. They went away and the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) came to me and I said to him: Messenger of Allah I there came to me two old women from the old Jewesses of Medina and asserted that the people of the graves would be tormented therein. He (the Prophet) said: They told the truth; they would be tormented (so much) that the animals would listen to it. She ('A'isha) said: Never did I see him (the Holy Prophet) afterwards but seeking refuge from the torment of the grave in prayer.
