Abu Salama reported Abu Huraira as saying: Iqama was pronounced. ant the people had formed themselves into rows. The Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) came out and stood at his place, and then pointed out with his hand that we should stand at our places. He then went away and took a bath and water trickled from his head and then led them in prayer.

وَحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو يَعْنِي الْأَوْزَاعِيَّ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: «أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، وَصَفَّ النَّاسُ صُفُوفَهُمْ، وَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَامَ مَقَامَهُ، فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِمْ بِيَدِهِ أَنْ مَكَانَكُمْ، فَخَرَجَ وَقَدِ اغْتَسَلَ وَرَأْسُهُ يَنْطُفُ الْمَاءَ، فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ»

  زہیر بن حرب نے بیان کیا کہ ہمیں ولید بن مسلم نے حدیث سنائی ، ( کہا ) : ابو عمرو ، یعنی اوزاعی نے حدیث سنائی ، کہا : ہمیں زہری نے ابو سلمہ سے ، انھوں نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ سے روایت کرتے ہوئے حدیث سنائی کہا : نماز کی اقامت کہہ دی گئی ، لوگوں نے اپنی صفیں باندھ لیں اور رسول اللہ ﷺ تشریف لا کر اپنی جگہ پر کھڑے ہو گئے پھر آپ نے لوگوں کو ہاتھ کے اشارے سے فرمایا : ’’اپنی جگہ پر رہو ۔ ‘ ‘ اور خود ( مسجد سے ) باہر نکل گئے ، پھر ( آئے تو ) آپ غسل فرما چکے تھے اور آپ کے سر سے پانی ٹپک رہا تھا ، پھر آپ نے انھیں نماز پڑھائی ۔
