A'isha reported: The Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) observed the Witr prayer every night and he completed Witr at the time of dawn.

و حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ وَاسْمُهُ وَاقِدٌ وَلَقَبُهُ وَقْدَانُ ح و حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ كِلَاهُمَا عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ مِنْ كُلِّ اللَّيْلِ قَدْ أَوْتَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَانْتَهَى وِتْرُهُ إِلَى السَّحَرِ

  مسلم ( بن صبیح ) نے مسروق سے اور انھوں نے حضرت عائشہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے رات کے ہر حصے میں وتر ( یارات ) کی نماز پڑھی ، ( لیکن عموماً ) آپ کے وتر سحری کے وقت تک پہنچتے تھے ۔
