حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ وَقُتَيْبَةُ وَابْنُ حُجْرٍ جَمِيعًا عَنْ إِسْمَعِيلَ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ ابْنُ أَيُّوبَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَعِيلُ أَخْبَرَنِي سَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ كَثِيرِ بْنِ أَفْلَحَ عَنْ ابْنِ سَفِينَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ تُصِيبُهُ مُصِيبَةٌ فَيَقُولُ مَا أَمَرَهُ اللَّهُ إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ اللَّهُمَّ أْجُرْنِي فِي مُصِيبَتِي وَأَخْلِفْ لِي خَيْرًا مِنْهَا إِلَّا أَخْلَفَ اللَّهُ لَهُ خَيْرًا مِنْهَا قَالَتْ فَلَمَّا مَاتَ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ قُلْتُ أَيُّ الْمُسْلِمِينَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ أَوَّلُ بَيْتٍ هَاجَرَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ إِنِّي قُلْتُهَا فَأَخْلَفَ اللَّهُ لِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَتْ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَاطِبَ بْنَ أَبِي بَلْتَعَةَ يَخْطُبُنِي لَهُ فَقُلْتُ إِنَّ لِي بِنْتًا وَأَنَا غَيُورٌ فَقَالَ أَمَّا ابْنَتُهَا فَنَدْعُو اللَّهَ أَنْ يُغْنِيَهَا عَنْهَا وَأَدْعُو اللَّهَ أَنْ يَذْهَبَ بِالْغَيْرَةِ

Urdu Translation

  اسماعیل بن جعفر نےکہا : مجھے سعد بن سعید نے عمر بن کثیر بن افلح سے خبر دی ، انھوں نے ( عمر ) ابن سفینہ سے اور انھوں نے حضرت ام سلمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا سے روایت کی ، انھوں نے کہا : میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا : "" کوئی مسلمان نہیں جسے مصیبت پہنچے اور وہ ( وہی کچھ ) کہے جس کا اللہ نے اسے حکم دیا ہے : "" یقینا ہم اللہ کے ہیں اور اسی کی طرف لوٹنے والے ہیں ، اے اللہ!مجھے میری مصیبت پر اجر دے اور مجھے ( اس کا ) اس سے بہتر بدل عطا فرما "" مگر اللہ تعالیٰ اسے اس ( ضائع شدہ چیز ) کا بہتر بدل عطا فرمادیتا ہے ۔ "" ( ام سلمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا نے ) کہا : جب ( میرے خاوند ) ابو سلمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ فوت ہوگئے تو میں نے ( دل میں ) کہا : کون سا مسلمان ابو سلمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے بہتر ( ہوسکتا ) ہے!وہ پہلا گھرانہ ہے جس نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی طرف ہجرت کی ۔ پھر میں نے وہ ( کلمات ) کہےتو اللہ تعالیٰ نے مجھے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی صورت میں اس کا بدل عطا فرمادیا ، کہا : رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے لئے نکاح کا پیغام دیتے ہوئے حاطب بن ابی بلتعہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کو میرے پا س بھیجا تو میں نے کہا : میری ایک بیٹی ہے اور میں بہت غیرت کرنے والی ہوں ۔ اس پر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : "" اس کی بیٹی کے بارے میں ہم اللہ سے دعا کرتے ہیں کہ وہ اس کو اس ( ام سلمہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہا ) سے بے نیاز کردے اور میں اللہ سے دعا کرتا ہوں کہ وہ ( بے جا ) غیرت کو ( اس سے ) ہٹا دے ۔ ""

English Translation

Umm Salama reported Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) as saying: If any Muslim who suffers some calamity says, what Allah has commanded him, We belong to Allah and to Him shall we return; O Allah, reward me for my affliction and give me something better than it in exchange for it, Allah will give him something better than it in exchange. When Abu Salama died she said: What Muslim is better than Abu Salama whose family was the first to emigrate to the Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ). I then said the words, and Allah gave me God's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) in exchange. She said: The Messenger of Allah ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ ) sent Hatib b. Abu Balta'a to deliver me the message of marriage with him. I said to him: I have a daughter (as my dependant) and I am of jealous temperament. He (the Holy Prophet) said: So far as her daughter is concerned, we would supplicate Allah, that He may free her (of her responsibility) and I would also supplicate Allah to do away with (her) jealous (temperament).
